Why export a car from the Netherlands to Turkey in 2026?
Turkey has a large market for used cars and a strong personal connection with the Netherlands through its sizeable Turkish-Dutch community. Many owners take a well-maintained Dutch car with them permanently or for an extended stay, valuing the honest mileage and full APK history.
As a non-EU country, Turkey applies import duties, special consumption tax (ÖTV) and VAT (KDV) that can be substantial and depend on engine size, age and CO2. These are handled by the Turkish customs authority (Ticaret Bakanlığı – Gümrükler). Turkish citizens may also import a vehicle temporarily without duties using a temporary importation permit.
We take care of the Dutch export side: RDW deregistration, the EX-A declaration, the export document and 14-day export insurance with a Green Card valid in Turkey. Given the distance, an extended insurance period is strongly recommended.

Turkish customs require the export document, registration, ID, purchase contract and a valid import declaration. Ask about temporary importation if the vehicle is only for a limited stay.
