Now comes the logistics: the car is ready at the hub in Raamsdonksveer, but without export license plates, export insurance and auto export documents you are not allowed on the road with it. Auto Export Document, an RDW recognized export office, provides this complete set and, on request, delivers it directly to the hub. What is OPENLANE and why do exporters buy there?
OPENLANE is the largest online B2B auction platform for used cars in Europe. Dealers from dozens of countries bid there every day on ex-lease vehicles, dealer stock and fleet cars. The Dutch supply is especially sought after: young used cars with a complete service history, documented mileage and the reliable RDW registration.
The platform works entirely online: you bid on lots with extensive vehicle specifications, damage reports and photos. After the sale you pay and OPENLANE prepares the vehicle for collection or transport. For international buyers the hub in Raamsdonksveer is the central collection point in the Netherlands. A strong purchase, however, is only half the job. The win is also in a tight handling: whoever arranges the export papers in advance collects the car without delay and is on the motorway heading home the same day.

Sale at OPENLANE
You win the lot and pay via the platform. OPENLANE confirms and schedules the availability of the vehicle at the hub.
Order the export set
You give us the registration number. We take care of the RDW deregistration, the export document, the insurance and the white plates.
Delivery to the hub
We send the complete set to OPENLANE Raamsdonksveer, or you collect it at our office in Hengelo.
Collect and drive away
At the hub you mount the white export license plates, check the papers and drive home legally.

Export license plates for your OPENLANE car: the rules
Every car that leaves the Netherlands for good must be deregistered for export at the RDW. With that the Dutch registration lapses and the need arises for a temporary, legal driving solution: the temporary export registration with white plates. That registration is valid for 14 days, exactly enough for the drive from Raamsdonksveer to any European destination, including stopovers.
The plates come with an export insurance with green card as international proof of liability cover. Police in Germany, Austria or the Balkans recognise the combination instantly: white Dutch export plates plus green card plus export document means a legal export drive.
Is the car going by transporter or to a destination outside the EU? Then the need shifts: no plates but the EX-A export document for customs. We advise per situation what is needed, so you do not pay for parts you do not use.
