Troostwijk Auctions: the business auction of the Benelux
Troostwijk Auctions, part of the European auction group TBAuctions, has been the address for business and industrial auctions for almost a century. For export buyers Troostwijk is interesting because the supply is different from regular car auctions. Where platforms like OPENLANE revolve around ex-lease passenger cars, at Troostwijk you find commercial vans with work equipment, trucks, construction equipment and sometimes complete fleets in one auction.
Do watch the logistics: lots usually do not stand on a central auction site but at the location of the (bankrupt) company, spread across the Netherlands. The collection periods are short and missed collection days cost money or even the lot. Arranging the paperwork in advance is therefore not a luxury here but a necessity.

Registered or not: two export routes
At Troostwijk you buy both vehicles with registration and equipment without. The export handling differs substantially, and we take care of both routes.
Route 1: vehicle with Dutch registration
Passenger car, van, truck or registered trailer: the vehicle must be deregistered for export at the RDW. We take care of the deregistration and the official RDW export document, and for the drive home the white export license plates with 14 days of export insurance.
Within the EU this set is sufficient. For destinations beyond it the EX-A export document is added for customs at the outer border.
Route 2: machine or equipment without registration
Excavator, forklift, generator or a trailer that is not subject to registration: here no RDW procedure is needed. If the equipment goes to an EU country, it can in principle travel freely. On export outside the EU the EX-A customs document is mandatory to close the export correctly.
We prepare the EX-A on the basis of the Troostwijk invoice and the transport details, so your transporter does not come to a standstill at the border.

Sale and invoice
You win the lot at Troostwijk and receive the invoice with the collection instructions and the collection deadline.
Provide the registration
Send us the registration number or the lot details straight away. Together we determine the right route: RDW export or EX-A customs.
Papers ready
Deregistration, export document, insurance and white plates are ready in Hengelo or land on your doormat.
Collect the lot
On the collection day you mount the plates on location and drive away legally, or the transport leaves with correct papers.
Our office in Hengelo is conveniently located for lots in the east and north of the Netherlands, right on the A1 towards Germany. But the remote approach also works for lots elsewhere in the country: provide the registration number, papers by post and drive away straight away on the collection day. Check the export services in advance or ask for advice about your specific lot via the price list and quote.
